Motor, ESC, shaft and propeller: four parts to think about together before a boat build.
Begin with the hull
Available space and driveline geometry guide the motor, mount and shaft selection. Check the propeller clearance and coupling dimensions before buying parts.
Plan cooling and power
Match motor and ESC ratings to the battery and propeller load. Keep the water-cooling path accessible and inspect its connections.
Check the driveline
Confirm shaft diameter, rotation and fastener fit. Inspect alignment and seals before operation and use the hull manufacturer’s setup guidance.
